Sigma appreciation post.

Hey guys.

So a couple of weeks ago I finally managed to get my hands on the much talked and much raved about "Resort" palette by Sigma. I had been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether I should get this palette ever since the beauty guru's on YouTube had started talking about it at the beginning of the year, and I FINALLY caved seeing as it IS a limited edition palette and it would soon be going out of production. I've heard so many great reviews about Sigma and their products, and I've been lusting after their brushes for ages. So when I finally received my package today, I was so excited and tore into the box as soon as I got it.

First and foremost, I would like to commend Sigma on their packaging and the way they've presented this product to me. I had done A LOT of online shopping, and never have a received a package that I was this impressed with. While the box it came in was plain and taped up, when I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised.

This is what the box looked like as soon as I opened it. Not only did Sigma include a thank you card, both the Resort palette and the eyeliner I got came individually wrapped and packaged. I think the way a package comes to you is a reflection of the store you buy it from, and Sigma has presented itself perfectly. It's always nice to see companies taking pride in their store and not only that, taking the time to present themselves in a way that makes the recipients want to buy from them again.

Sigma also graciously included a miniature version of their infamous brush cleaning glove. A full size glove retails for $35, so it was incredibly exciting for me to get this mini version to test out.

Now, on to the palette itself. On the Sigma website it's described to include "rich warm tones which compliment vibrant ocean-like hues in this unique palette ideal for creating your own oasis." In the palette, you get 8 eyeshadows: muse, fawn, luna, topaz, papaya, moonbeam, neela and midori. A powder blush: heavenly. A liquid highlighter: luminesce, and a dual-ended eyeliner including the colours "daydream" and "earth goddess"

Now the palette definitely lives true to the claim that is has intensely pigmented eyeshadows. All the shadows go on near opaque even without a primer. This palette definitely has an enormous variety of looks that can be achieved. The 4 shadows on the left are definitely more nude and neutral, while the ones on the right have a more fun, exuberant feel to them. My two favourite shades in this palette are definitely neela and midori. They are such intense colours and I can't wait to do a tropical, fun, party look with them. The blush is a gorgeous coral colour which would look great with any look you would attempt with this palette, while the gold liquid highlighter gives a gorgeous bronzy highlight which would look amazing on any skin tone. Both the eyeliners are, again, so opaque it's almost scary. Blue eyeliner can be intimidating at the best of times, but I think with this palette it definitely works and you could get some really bright, fun looks going with it. A brown eyeliner never goes astray, and earth goddess is definitely one that should be in everyone's collection. Brown eyeliner is a fun way to replace black eyeliner to soften up a look or just add to a nice nude, natural, earthy make up look.

All in all, I think this palette is an essential in anyone's collection. It has a lot of neutral colours that can be used on an every day basis, but it also includes some bright, fun colours for party looks or even if you're down by the beach or pool. It just makes me want to go away to a tropical paradise. Make sure you get yours asap before they stop making them! 10/10 for this palette, and I will definitely be a sigma customer in the future!
