Not just missing them when they're not there and wanting to talk to them all the time, no... Something that goes further than that. Something that goes deeper than that. Have you ever felt like your sole purpose of existing, the reason for your happiness, the reason you wake up every day lies not within an object or a substance, but in a person? Have you ever had to go a few more days than normal without seeing this person, and feel things start to change? Have you felt your energy deplete without them around to inflate you? Have you felt your happiness melt away without their infectious smile around to ignite the spark in your chest? Have you grappled at the sheets on the empty side of your bed, longing for a body that is kilometres away? Have you found yourself counting down the days, the hours, the minutes, until you get to see them again? Have you taken to solitude to whittle away the minutes until your next hit? Have you lost sleep knowing that the next time you see them is farther away than normal? Have you felt the helplessness of being without the light of your life?
I have.
