So around a month ago I traveled with my wonderful boyfriend to go visit my childhood best friend in Newcastle, because she moved up there to go to Uni. Among being an amazing artist and having her HSC Body of Work being displayed in Japan, she also has a flair for fashion and design. When she realised her talent for design, she started up her own etsy store under the pseudonym "AlienDoll", which, according to her first blog post, means to "Be fierce, be strong. Be a Doll. 'Cause Dolls don't listen to what people say. Dolls wear all black with shiny leather and sky high heels. You are beautiful and independent. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Her signature floral headpieces have been incredibly popular among her loyal instagram followers and the grunge/soft grunge scene in general. Along with her talent in floral headpieces, she is also making handmade body harnesses, thigh garters and shoe garters (which I must say, look incredible paired with some UNIF Hellbounds or some Jeffrey Campbell Big Lita's). She is gradually gaining popularity and her store is flourishing. When I went to go see Maighan, she asked me if I would like to model some of her floral headpieces and of course, I accepted this amazing opportunity. I'll insert some pictures from the shoot so you can see some of her amazing creations.
